Welcome to the IRT Brief! A place for quick hits on all things IRT or RTSM (More on that difference in the future). So let’s start here…
Language matters! These terms get confused all the time in the IRT space so let’s break them down and use them succinctly
“Alert”- This tells you that something requires your attention and possible action. Typically, it is when certain conditions are met such as a threshold level at a depot or that a strata cap is approaching.
“Notification”- This tells you something has happened. In other words, it is an FYI. It doesn’t require action from you unless you have particular insight to the notification.
“Confirmation”- This tells you the details of the transaction that you have completed in the system. It would include the data inputs and outputs from the system, such as assigned med ID. These are also items that may be filed to provide the details of the transaction in the eTMF or patient record.
